 Ordination Stole for Jacob

When Jacob entered seminary, I knew I wanted to weave an ordination stole for him. This fabric is an overshot based on a namedraft of "Put on the yoke of Christ". The warp and tabby weft are scarlet silk, custom dyed by Treenway Silks, and the pattern weft is a merino/silk blend in ruby. It is sett at 24 epi.

Below are photos of Jacob wearing the stole in the sanctuary of St. James Episcopal Church, Birmingham, MI

The stole is lined with a ruby cotton/polyester blend ...I decided against a satin lining due to concerns of slippage while wearing. Creating this fabric and constructing this stole for my son was an act of love and a true honor to do. I love you , Jacob.
