About Us
 About Us
Good Measure Farm is a small, 38 acre family farm committed to the principles of sustainable agriculture. Our farm was established in the summer of 1995. Since that time much effort has been made to develop and improve the land. Our pastures have been sprigged with Bermuda grass and now produce ample hay for our animals and enough to sell several tons yearly. We have planted blackberries, grapes, and strawberries; and have a young orchard. We have a green house on the farm, which is used for propagation and overwintering tender plants. The use of chemicals on our pastures, trees and flowers is kept to a minimum.
We maintain a flock of 60 laying hens who supply us and our neighbors with all the eggs we need. Our small spinner's flock of fiber animals (sheep and llamas) produce high quality fiber for handspinning. Our herd of registered Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats give us wonderfully rich milk for drinking and cheeses, and in addition are incredible companion animals.
We take great care to provide for the health and well being of all our animals. Our goats are tested for CAE, Brucellosis, Johnes, and CL. The most recent testing was done in 2006 with all animals having negative results.
We are very fortunate to have a wonderful new veterinarian, Wil McLin . Wil, his wife and young son, live on a ranch outside ElmoreCity, OK. His practice includes lots of horses and small animals, and now our herd of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. Wil has a very nice office with a complete surgery and x-ray. His Vet Assistant, Beth, is also wonderful to work with. We are very happy to have found Wil....he has helped me a lot (with a few rather bizarre things, too!) over the last year....
